I came in to work this morning to discover a box of Whole Foods chocolates on my desk, along with a Thank You card with a very sweet note and a $75 Whole Foods gift card from one of my faculty members!!!!!!!!!!!! You have NO IDEA how exciting I find the gift card and how absolutely amazing it is that someone pays that close attention to my ways. It’s such a personal gift.

Almost adventure time!

Almost adventure time!

3 Nerdy Must-Haves

1) Toddy branded microfiber cloths: These were $20 for 3, which was a little expensive for microfiber cloths but TOTALLY worth it. They clean better than ANY other cloths I have had (and since they come with everything, that means hundreds!). They have tons of cute designs which makes it easy to find in your bag, are 2 sided, machine washable and work for EVERYTHING. I use them to clean my glasses, tablet, cell phone, laptop, DSLR camera/lenses, mp3 players…pretty much everything except for my dog and the dishes.

2) Belkin Mini Surge Protector w/ 2 USB ports ($10-$18): Have you ever traveled with a group or found ONE available plug at an airport/cafe when you actually need to charge 3 things? This is my answer. It’s compact enough to tuck into any bag, has a rotating plug, 2 usb ports and 3 plugs. I am able to keep my charging contained (when you travel with as many tech toys as I do, this is important!). My only gripe is that the USB is not powerful enough to charge certain things, so check that before you go.

3) Energizer Energi To Go pack ($20): These Energizer charge packs come in a few different sizes/voltages, but this is the basic one for $20. It charges on a regular cell phone charger and you throw it in your bag. It comes with a bunch of different tips. All those times where you know you will be away from a charger and NEED your phone, this is key. It gives about an extra 1/3 of a full charge when the situation gets critical. Pretty clutch for $20.
